UMHLOBO WENENE LINE-UP CHANGES

Port Elizabeth – Monday 1 April 2019 – Today, Umhlobo Wenene unveiled its line-up changes, in line with the station operating in a fast paced radio environment, as it aims to constantly evolve and remain relevant to its target market and grow to its maximum capacity.

The station has taken the decision to re-shuffle some of its presenters and there will be no new on air presenters joining the station. The station has introduced a new show Iingcebiso Ngezomthetho’, which will look into legal matters that will be presented by Luckeez Matyolweni, with a resident advocate from 21h30 – 22h30.

The station also wishes to announce that the programme ‘Zibuzwa kuthi’, which broadcasts from 12h00 – 13h00 on Mondays to Fridays will now be presented by Siphosethu Nonganga. Mafa Bavuma moves to be part of the ‘BEE Show’, which airs on Mondays to Fridays from 06h30 – 09h00. These two changes will be effective as from 3 June 2019.

The station has introduced a new programme ‘Masixolelane’ which will be broadcast on Mondays from 22h00 – 00h00 and will be presented by Tsidi Monteiro. It replaces the programme ‘Usagoduka Nha?’.

Elvis Mali will continue to present the programmes ‘Umculo WeJazz’ on Sundays from 22h00 – 00h00 and ‘Ezolimo’ on Friday mornings from 03h00 -04h30. 

Mr Phumzile Mnci, the station manager of Umhlobo Wenene FM, who is also the acting Provincial General Manager of the Eastern Cape Province stated “I am thrilled to introduce this new line up, which I believe will deliver innovative and cutting edge programming. MUNGHANA LONENE FM NEW LINE-UP

Polokwane –Monday, 1 April 2019 – Munghana Lonene FM is pleased to announce its exhilarating new line-up effective from 1 April 2019.  The station will kick-off weekdays with 5 hours of listener’s choice music show between 00h00 – 05h00.  The breakfast show Phaphama’ will now be anchored by DJ Brian and Conny Mashimbye with Rhandzu Optimus Mthombeni on Sports and Xolani wale Kenhuk, presenting traffic.  The breakfast show will now be from 05h00 – 09h00 making time for the Current Affairs show, ‘Tiko Axi etleli’ from 06h00 – 07h00. The breakfast show slot will move to 06h00 – 09h00 from June this year.

 

Lindiwe Lin Diva Makhubele retains the 09h00 – 12h00 slot and will now be followed by Khalanga Pat Mathebula on ‘Africa wa Vulavula ‘from 12h00 until 13h30. Veteran Broadcaster Eric “Khel Khel” Makelani joins the daytime team from 13h30 – 15h00 presenting Dzumba na Mina’.

 

The afternoon show will complete the daytime line-up from 15h00 – 18h00. Quinton “The Quintonizer” Baloyi continues to host the programme and will be joined by Khensani Nyango as a new addition. Augmenting the afternoon crew will be Mzilikazi Nziane on sports and Vongani Bongiwil Maluleke on traffic.

 

The 18h00  to 19h00 slot, is the Current Affairs show, Tiko Axi etleli’ and then Ras Nyiko delivers sports between 19h00 and 20h00 followed by Beka Ntsan’wisi at 20h00 – 21h00. The educational programmes will now be on at 21h00 – 22h00 with Chiechie Rikhotso on Mondays to Thursdays and Rooitjie Rikhotso presenting ‘Youth ke Yona’ on Fridays. Risimati “N’wana n’wa Gee” Kwinika completes the weekdays line-up, presenting the show ‘Gongomela’  from 22h00 – 00h00.

 

Saturday and Sundays start with nonstop mixtapes by in-house and guest DJ’s at 00h00 to 05h00. On Saturdays from 06h00 – 07h00 is ‘Tiko axi etleli’ followed by the all new programme ‘Saturday Breakfast’ with Morris Sibuyi (Maningi wa Ntamu) from 07h00 – 09h00.  Morris Sibuyi will also present the Gospel show ‘Sisimuka U Vangama’ at 06h00 – 09h00.

 

Thembzana Reloaded from 09h00 – 12h00 will present the Top 30 Chart Show ‘Switshongo’ on Saturday and the ‘Live and Unplugged sessions on Sundays, also from 09h00 – 12h00.

 

12h00 – 15h00 on Saturdays is Rooitjie Rikhotso on a brand new weekend lifestyle show ‘Saturday Cruize’ and on Sundays Themba “Techtonics” Chauke presents the Soul session  with  the programme ‘Pyupya’ from 12h00 – 15h00 . 15h00 – 18h00 on weekends is ‘Etimbaleni ta Mintlangu’, the weekend sports live show with Matthews Mokoena (DJ Matt).

DJ Soulcrusher will present the 18h00 – 21h00 slot on weekends with a new music and talent show ‘New  Music Space’ on Saturday and a Live Gospel fiesta on Sundays with the show ‘Sunday Revival between 19h00 – 21h00. Xitsonga Hip Hop Pioneer Mchangani completes the station line up with the show ‘Emanembenembeni ya Hip Hop’  between 21h00 – 00h00 on Saturdays and ‘Ta Mbilu yanga’ on Sunday from 21h00 – 00h00.

PHALAPHALA FM LINE-UP CHANGES

Polokwane – Monday, 01 April 2019 – Phalaphala FM has made changes in its line-up in order to continuously cater to the dynamic and ever-changing needs of its valued listeners. These changes are in line with the versatile nature of radio and media industry.

 

The changes include an all music show between 00h00 and 05h00 on Mondays to Fridays. From  00h00 until 06h00 on weekends, the station will usher in the fresh voice of Rampsie Rampfumedzi’” The Luv Doc” on Sundays from 10h00 until 12h00 . There will be personalities changing slots Jones Netshipise” Mr Lover Lover”  will now present the show ‘Ri a Dzedza’ from Sundays – Thursdays between 21h00 – 00h00.

THOBELA FM LINE-UP CHANGES

Polokwane – Saturday, 30 March 2019 – Thobela FM will be introducing slight changes to its 2019/20 line-up with the purpose of serving its listeners in line with their needs, looking at the demands and environmental changes within the radio landscape. These changes will take place from 1 April 2019.

The Morning drive show, ‘Ditlalemeso’ will be co-hosted by Lenny T and Mankoko Baby between 07h00 and 09h00 from Monday to Friday. Sebasa Mogale will present the 12h00 to 14h00 music show, ‘Mosegare wa Sekgalela’. The youth show, ‘Moswa le Bokamoso’ which broadcasts between 14h00 and 15h00 Monday to Friday will be presented by Koketso Motau.
The ‘Top 30’ charts show on Saturdays will be hosted by Fantastic Sebola from 10h00-13h00. The African Rhythm Show, Moribo wa Afrika has been given a new name, ‘Afrika ya Dinaledi” and it will be presented by Max Mojapelo on Saturdays between 18h00 and 21h00.

The station’s Sunday music shows ‘A re Tumisheng Morena’, ‘Melodi ya Boiketlo’ and ‘Jazz yeo phelago’ will be delivered by the station’s new on-air personalities respectively. ‘A re Tumisehng Morena’ will be presented by Ronnie Lesudi between 08h00 to 11h00, Kgopotso Sekopa will follow with ‘Melodi ya Boiketlo’, between 11h00 to 13h00 and ‘Jazz yeo e phelago’ will be presented by Promise Makgoale from 13h00 to 15h00.

Thobela FM Station Manager, Ms Mosh Matsena stated that “the station finds itself in a position in which it needs an impactful change, looking at the delivery of content, music and the type of personalities that match with the station’s identity and its strategy”. METRO FM LINE-UP CHANGES

Johannesburg –Saturday 30 March 2019 – METRO FM is proud to announce its 2019/20 lineup, as it aims to continue raising the industry bar. The station will effect slight changes to its lineup on 1 April 2019, in line with continuous delivery to its mandate and business strategy.

 

With the new line-up, METRO has signed four big names to its stable. The station has built onto the successes of the station’s currently strong line-up, by bringing on board Ayabonga Cawe, Relebogile Mabotja, Moshe Ndiki and Andile Ncube.

 

Ayabonga Cawe  takes over ‘METRO FM Talk’, between 19h30 and 21h00 on Monday to Thursday. Ayabonga possess all attributes to rebuild METRO FM Talk offering, aligning it to core audience needs and the changing broadcast landscape.

 

Joining the ‘#FreshBreakfast’, which airs between 05h00 and 09h00, at the beginning of May 2019 is seasoned broadcaster and media personality, Relebogile Mabotja.  She will add her voice to the freshest breakfast team on radio with her smart thinking, wittiness and ability to have diverse views and in-depth knowledge of current affairs content as well her relatability and appeal.

 

Another addition to the METRO FM family is one of South Africa’s most loved personality, Moshe Ndiki who joins the 15h00 to 18h00 ‘The Drive’ show as a contributor. He will be bringing the station’s listeners his take on ‘the past week in the news’ every Friday on ‘The Drive’, putting a light hearted and fun spin on top news items that made headlines in the past week.

 

The last addition to the team is sports fanatic, Andile Ncube who joins METRO FM as the sports presenter for the weekend breakfast show ‘#TheWKNDR’, which broadcasts from 06h00 – 09h00. He will be presenting sports bulletins, ensuring the station’s listeners know what to expect in the world of sports on weekends. Andile brings with him a wealth of experience from SABC Sports having anchored many TV sports shows as well as hosted a radio sports show on Radio 2000 and being part of many international sporting events.

 

The new changes will see Somizi Mhlongo joining ‘#TheBridge’ team, bringing his own version of fun, charisma and more fun to the show, whilst Sentle Lehoko takes over the Monday to Thursday 21h00 – 00h00 slot on the new show ‘#NinetoMidnightWithSentle’. Marian Nyarko-Lartey will follow with ‘#TheWindDown’ from 00h00 – 02h00 with Ismail Abrahams taking over the baton, keeping METRO FM listeners company from 02h00 -05h00 on Monday to Friday with the show ‘#EarlyMorningsWithASmile’.

 

Dynamic rising star Khanya ‘Kyeezi’ Siyengo takes over the ‘#METROFMTOP40COUNTDOWN’ with his energetic, knowledgeable and entertaining presenting style on Saturdays between 09h00 – 13h00, whilst his former partner in crime Phind’Gcobe Madubela aka DJ PH rides solo on ‘#CruiseControl’ Saturdays 13h00 – 15h00. Bujy Bikwa joins MoG on the ‘#TheWKNDR’, Saturdays 06h00 – 09h00.

SAFM LINE-UP 2019

Johannesburg, Friday 29 March 2019 – SAfm remains the only national Talk radio station with the largest footprint in South Africa. In order to retain relevance in the broadcasting space, it is imperative to continuously refresh, strengthen and rotate talent to ensure that we lead the conversation as we have in the last 82 years. The station believes its existing talent and with the introduction of new personalities, will ensure it remains relevant in the industry.

SAfm is excited to announce the addition of Ayanda Allie Paine, Songezo Mabece, Chris Vick and Mathumo Manaka as new presenters joining the SAfm family from 01 April 2019.

Weekday programming schedule between 06h00-13h00 remains unchanged. From Monday, 1 April 2019 listeners can look forward to the voice of Ayanda Allie Paine from 13h00-15h00 weekdays. Masechaba Mtolo will anchor the afternoon show  from 15:00 to 18:00 weekdays. Market Update 18h00 – 19h00 and Sport On 19h00 – 20h00 remain unchanged. Later in the evening on Monday and Tuesday 20h00 – 22h00 Songezo Mabece unpacks key Socio, Economic and Political matters of the day, with Chris Vick taking over Wednesday and Thursday bringing in his depth of knowledge in political and social issues. Chris is a guru in media and communications, while Songezo is a Legal Counsel with a demonstrated history of working in public policy.  Both their extensive experiences in their respective fields will contribute immensely to shaping national debates on air.

Mathumo Manaka ushers the weekend in, Fridays 21h00-00h00 with an all music show and again on Saturday and Sunday 13h00 – 16h00 with the best music selection.

LESEDI FM LINE-UP CHANGES

Bloemfontein, Friday, 29 March 2019 – Lesedi FM, a sub-brand of the SABC with the highest Socio Economic Measure (SEM) among the African Language Stations has made changes to its line up effective from 1 April 2019. The objective for the line-up changes is to defend and increase the station’s audience.

‘Monate Breakfast’ show will be served by Seipati ‘Twasa’ Seoke and Nkunyana ‘Skuzabell’ Nkunyana from Monday to Friday between 06h30-09h00. Tholoana ‘ThuliBaby’ Moletsane will presentMathemalodi’ from 09h00-12h00. ‘Jwale ke Nako’ show broadcast between 12h00-15h00 will be delivered by Thuso ‘O nketsang’ Motaung and Matshogo ‘DJ Stix’ Mahloko.

The drive time show, ‘Re a kubeletsa’ will continue to be presented by Nyakallo ‘Ba2Cada’ Leine from Monday to Friday between 15:00-18:00.

The station has retained majority of its on-air personalities with others being moved to other slots or allocated new responsibilities. Zanele ‘Nestum’ Nyakale will be taking up the role of the Station Coordinator in Gauteng, because the veteran broadcaster Phelane ‘Master P’ Sothoane has retired.

SABC NEWS YouTube CHANNEL SCOOPS AN AWARD

Johannesburg, Friday, 29 March 2019-The South African Broadcasting Corporation (SABC) is pleased to announce that its SABC News YouTube channel has scooped an award at the Bookmarks 2019 Awards on Thursday, 28 March 2019.

This award is a confirmation that the SABC is making great strides in positioning itself as a multiplatform content provider. This is in line with the SABC’s mission statement “to become a high performing, financially sustainable, digitised national public broadcaster that provides compelling informative, educational and entertaining content via all platforms”.

The SABC News YouTube channel offers a variety of news reports, broadcast on its television platform, the SABC News Channel (Dstv 404) and news and current affairs programmes aired on SABC 1, 2 and 3. In addition SABC News YouTube channel also broadcasts original content produced in the SABC’s digital newsroom, as well as the live streaming of daily news events.

MOTSWEDING FM INTRODUCES ITS NEW LINE-UP

Mahikeng, Friday 29 March 2019 – Motsweding FM will on 1 April 2019 refresh it’s on air line-up underscoring the need to stay relevant, competitive and to reflect the multifaceted interests of all its audience age groups.

The new line up echoes the station management’s commitment to position Motsweding FM as a custodian of cultural values, identity and a vehicle for the preservation and development of the Setswana language.

New additions to the Motsweding FM line-up include well known on-air personalities, Tumi Morake, Ikanyeng Modubu, and the return of Mokopi MKP Molebatsi and Modisane Modise. Amon Mokoena and Tumi Morake have been tapped to host the much-anticipated breakfast show, ‘Di Rage’ to give the show a pacey fresh new feel. The show will migrate to the 06h00 – 09h00 time slot from 1 June 2019. Lebo Leabile will continue to present the mid-morning show ‘Resemeletse’ from 09h00 to 12h00 and Mokopi MKP Molebatsi will deliver the midday show ‘Oketsa’ between 12h00 and 15h00. Mokopi Molebatsi will also present the Sunday night soul show ‘Sepelong’ between 21h00 and 00h00.

The vibrant and energetic Lucas LTK Komanisi will continue to rock the airwaves on the drive time show, ‘Gotetsa Mosha’.between 15h00-18h00 on Monday to Friday. Other key developments are that Kb Molopyane will present the weekday Sports show ‘Mabaleng’ between 19h00-20h00 and Lindiwe Modise will present ‘Nna Le wena’ from Monday to Thursday between 20h00-00h00.

The station has also introduced a new religious programme for Thursday Nights, Tsa Tumelo between 20h00 to 00h00; the show will be interchanged between Modisane Modise, Pastor Motsamai Brown Mosiapoa and Moruti Tube.

The young and energetic Ikanyeng Modubu will team up with Tomaeza for ‘Kgotlha O Mone’ from Monday to Friday between 00h00-03h00.
The show, ‘Ke Mo Teng’ can now be enjoyed on Saturdays, 12h00-15h00, and the station will introduce ‘Moribo Wa Afrika’ to be presented by the seasoned presenter Tom Perez between 21h00 to 00h00. Brown Mosiapoa and Moruti Tube who present the show, ‘Rorisang’ will move to the earlier Sunday slot 06h00-08h00 making way for ‘Tsa Tumelo’ between 08h00 to 10h00 with Modisane Modise and Pastor Motsamai.

Speaking on the line-up changes, Motsweding FM Station Manager Mr. Katlego Mokhele said “We want to explore new ways in which to grow audiences while instilling appreciation of the Setswana culture and language”.The changes also reflect our commitment to empowering more women in a traditionally male-dominated industry. Motsweding FM has adopted a strategy which seeks to grow its listenership in the Gauteng, Free State, Northern Cape and Limpopo provinces while maintaining its current numbers in the North West.
