MEDIA STATEMENT | THE SABC SECURES RADIO BROADCASTING RIGHTS FOR THE ICC MEN’S T20 WORLD CUP 2021

Johannesburg- Sunday, 17 October 2021 – SABC Sport  SABC Sport is pleased to announce that it has secured the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2021 radio broadcasting rights. The tournament, scheduled to commence today, will take place in the United Arab Emirates and Oman, until Sunday, 14 November 2021.

The ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2021 broadcasting rights have been secured for three of the SABC’s radio stations – Radio 2000, Umhlobo Wenene FM, and Radio Sonder Grense (RSG). Radio 2000 will take the lead with broadcasting all 45 of the tournament’s matches; Umhlobo Wenene will only broadcast matches from the ICC T20’s fifth ranked team- South Africa and the full commentary and reports of the tournament will be accessed on RSG.

SABC Sport remains committed to ensuring that all sport of national interest is accessible to citizens.
