Name the chef and name the restaurant. Get both right and you know Cape Town food better than most. One of them cooks over open fire. One of them you have queued for. One of them is about to be your favourite.
The table is being set at Green Point Cricket Club on 28 and 29 November.
Today, the SABC joins South Africans in commemorating Heritage Day under the theme, “Celebrating Our Living Heritage: Strengthening the Ties That Bind Us.”
Our living heritage is expressed through our languages, music, storytelling, rituals, indigenous knowledge, craftsmanship and traditions. These cultural expressions connect generations, preserve collective memory and strengthen our shared sense of belonging.
As South Africa’s public broadcaster, the SABC remains committed to reflecting the richness and diversity of our nation, while using the power of broadcasting to promote unity, mutual respect and the enduring spirit of Ubuntu.

On Wednesday, SABC Plus took part in the Digital Inclusion Summit South Africa, bringing together government, industry and civil society to tackle the barriers standing between South Africans and meaningful digital participation.
Our newly appointed Head of SABC Plus, Thubelihle Mavuso, spoke on the Overcoming Access Barriers panel, highlighting how SABC Plus, a free-to-register platform, gives South Africans access to trusted news, educational and entertainment content without cost standing in the way. This includes AI learning modules that young people can complete and add straight to their CVs.

What an incredible day at the Africa Creator Festival! ✨
As official media partner, the SABC alongside hundreds of creators, brands and industry leaders spent the day listening in on engaging sessions regarding how the creator economy has gone mainstream.
A highlight of the day was the Culture and Community panel, where our Head of Integrated Marketing, Ongeziwe Lupuwana, spoke on the importance of putting culture and nation first, building genuine community beyond just followers, and how South African creators can stay authentic while reaching global audiences.
As the media landscape continues to evolve, so too must the models that support sustainable public broadcasting.
At LeaderEx2026, SABC Board Chairperson, Dr Khathutshelo Ramukumba, reflected on the changing broadcasting environment and the need to ensure that the SABC is equipped to remain relevant, resilient and sustainable into the future.
The conversation forms part of the SABC’s continued engagement on the future of public media and its role in serving South Africans in an increasingly dynamic media environment.
Five silhouettes. Five kitchens. Zero clues.
Name the chef and name the restaurant. Get both right and you know Cape Town food better than most. One of them cooks over open fire. One of them you have queued for. One of them is about to be your favourite.
The table is being set at Green Point Cricket Club on 28 and 29 November.
