Johannesburg-Saturday, 31 July 2021-The South African Broadcasting Corporation (SABC) radio portfolio scooped 20 awards for its continuous excellent delivery of radio programming at the Radio Awards 2021 ceremony yesterday.
These awards reflect the credibility and sustainability of the public service broadcaster’s radio stations.
The Group Executive of SABC Radio Ms Nada Wotshela stated that “As a public service broadcaster, we have been given the mandate to ensure that all South African are provided with high quality educational, informative and entertaining content which is both credible and reliable. I am delighted that this mandate is executed exceptionally well by committed and talented employees and freelancers whose work is acknowledged and rewarded on big platforms such as the South African Radio Awards”.
Ms. Wotshela further commented that “This great news come at the time when we are in a celebratory mood as the SABC reaches 85 years of excellence in broadcasting on the 01^st of August. Some of our radio stations have been operational for over sixty years and it is very pleasing that over the years, we have been consistent with our performance and we are confident that we will tread on this trajectory continuously”.
