The Department of Water and Sanitation, and Rand Water have assured communities that water supply will not be affected by the upcoming temporary closure of the Lesotho Highlands Tunnel.

The water project will close down for 6 months for maintenance work.

The closure is expected to start from October this year until March next year.

The project will be overseen by the Lesotho Highlands Development Agency and the Trans-Caledon Tunnel Authority, an entity under the Department of Water and Sanitation.

In the wake of last month's deadly terrorist attack at Crocus City Hall near Russia's capital, there's been an increase in checks and deportations of migrants from the country.

The four men accused of perpetrating the massacre that killed at least 145 people, are Tajik nationals who are suspected of having been radicalised.

Russian lawmakers said they fear migrants could become an easy target for foreign intelligence.

And the authorities are now discussing how to tighten control over foreign workers who Russia needs to meet a labour shortage.
