The show follows real people as they fight to reclaim their roles in the community and reconnect with their families after being released from prison. It goes beyond entertainment and sparks a national conversation on redemption, family, and second chances.
Each episode lays bare the psychological toll of estrangement, depression, low self-worth, and displaced anger, while holding space for transformation, forgiveness, and healing.
Set in South Africa’s townships and correctional centres, the series offers a raw, human, and redemptive journey that aligns with SABC 2’s commitment to family, community, and cultural restoration.
Through intimate storytelling, the series challenges the notion that ex-offenders are unfit parents, unpacking the regrets, stigma, and pain of lost time. Episodes feature the ex-offender, their child (where appropriate), the child’s mother, family and friends, providing a layered perspective on the journey to rebuild bonds.
Hosted by the legendary king of comedy, Steve Harvey, Family Feud Botswana ignites the finest aspects of a classic game show… the rivalry, the teamwork, the audience participation, the despair and the triumphs.
In every episode, two teams go head-to-head, scoring points by guessing the most popular responses to questions answered by 100 Batswana. Each answer has a monetary value based on the number of people who gave that answer in the survey.
Both families can accumulate money throughout the game, and the one with the most money plays the final game, with the opportunity to win an additional jackpot of P50 000, and the pressure is on as two members of the winning family race against the clock to uncover the top surveyed answers and walk away with the jackpot.
Stir in some unpredictable moments and a good dose of fun, and you’ve got the formidable FAMILY FEUD played and enjoyed by viewers all around the world.
This season, Family Feud Botswana has been tailor-made for a Batswana audience, featuring a 100% Batswana cast and every question was surveyed by one hundred Batswana. It’s a uniquely Motswana production and experience set to teach Mr Steve Harvey and the rest of the world about this wonderful, warm and impressive nation.
