Johannesburg, 3rd September\u00a02021<\/em><\/strong> \u2013 SABC1 is the main broadcast partner of the annual Royalty Soapie Awards which kicked off with the nominee’s announcement on the 1st<\/sup> of September and saw the SABC score 66 nominations.
\nS3\u2019s telenovela The Estate<\/u><\/em><\/strong> received the highest number of nominations with 26 with the highlights being the nominations of Outstanding Lead Actor, Outstanding Daily TV Drama, and Outstanding Onscreen Couple, followed by 7de Laan<\/u><\/em><\/strong> and Skeem Saam<\/u><\/em><\/strong> scoring 10 nominations each.
\nThe South African adaptation of the international series Ugly Betty, uBettina Wethu<\/u><\/em><\/strong> received 6 nominations including an outstanding female villain as portrayed by Ayanda Bandla in her role as Lakhe Amon.
\nSABC2\u2019s Muvhango<\/u><\/em><\/strong>\u2019s nominations include that of an outstanding onscreen couple for the characters of Mulalo and Teboho played by Sidney Ramakuwela and Liteboho Modise. The soapie received a total of 5 nominations.

\nFollowing right behind Muvhango are Generations: The Legacy<\/strong> and Uzalo <\/strong>with 4 nominations each.

\nDie Sentrum<\/strong> also from SABC2 received one nomination in the Most Popular Show Category.
