{"id":7255,"date":"2021-04-01T11:08:16","date_gmt":"2021-04-01T11:08:16","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.sabc.co.za\/sabc\/sabc\/?p=7255"},"modified":"2021-04-01T11:08:16","modified_gmt":"2021-04-01T11:08:16","slug":"media-statement-sabc-welcomes-the-labour-appeals-court-dismissal-of-bemawu-petition-for-leave-to-appeal-the-section-189-judgement","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.sabc.co.za\/sabc\/media-statement-sabc-welcomes-the-labour-appeals-court-dismissal-of-bemawu-petition-for-leave-to-appeal-the-section-189-judgement\/","title":{"rendered":"MEDIA STATEMENT | SABC WELCOMES THE LABOUR APPEALS COURT DISMISSAL OF BEMAWU PETITION FOR LEAVE TO APPEAL THE SECTION 189 JUDGEMENT"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Johannesburg &#8211; Thursday, 1 April 2021<\/strong>\u2013The South African Broadcasting Corporation (SABC) welcomes today\u2019s Labour Appeal\u2019s Court dismissal of BEMAWU\u2019s petition for leave to appeal the Section 189 judgement of the Labour court.<\/p>\n<p>The Labour Court had previously dismissed an appeal stating that there was simply no reasonable prospects that another Court could come to a different conclusion, based on the facts presented by BEMAWU and their failure to prove that there was a material failure in the section 189A (13) process of the LRA.<\/p>\n<p>The SABC maintains that the Section 189 process can withstand any legal scrutiny.
