1. <\/b>DEFINITIONS<\/p>\n
1.1 In these Competition Rules, the following definitions apply (unless the context clearly<\/p>\n
indicates a contrary intention):<\/p>\n
1.1.1 \u201cthe Act\u201d means the Consumer Protection Act, 68 of 2008;<\/p>\n
1.1.2 “Business Day” means a day other than a Saturday or a Sunday or a day which from time<\/p>\n
to time is a proclaimed public holiday in the Republic of South Africa;<\/p>\n
1.1.3 \u201cCompetition\u201d means the SABC+ Customer Satisfaction Survey and Prize Eligibility<\/p>\n
Competition;<\/p>\n
1.1.4 \u201cCompetition Rules\u201d means the rules, as required by Section 36 of the Act as run by the<\/p>\n
SABC during the Promotion Period;<\/p>\n
1.1.5 \u201cParticipant\u201d means an individual who enters the Competition and meets the qualification<\/p>\n
criteria set out in clause 4;<\/p>\n
1.1.6 \u201cPOPI\u201d means the Protection of Personal Information Act, No 4 of 2013;<\/p>\n
1.1.10 \u201cPrize\u201d means the sum of money to be won by the Winner of the Competition as further<\/p>\n
described in clause 4;<\/p>\n
1.1.11 \u201cSurvey\u201d means the SABC+ Satisfaction Survey which is sent by the SABC for any<\/p>\n
person\/member of the public to complete;<\/p>\n
1.1.12 \u201cSurvey\u201d means the SABC+ Satisfaction Survey which is sent by the SABC for any<\/p>\n
person\/member of the public to complete;<\/p>\n
1.1.13 \u201cWinner\u201d means a Participant who is successfully drawn in the Competition and is notified<\/p>\n
as such by the SABC in terms of clause<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
6.2. <\/b>INTRODUCTION<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
2.1 The SABC is promoting participation in the SABC+ Customer Satisfaction Survey, by<\/p>\n
participating in the survey participants can enter the Competition in order to win the Prize,<\/p>\n
in terms of the Competition Rules set out herein.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
3. <\/b>WHO MAY PARTICIPATE<\/p>\n
3.1. To participate in the competition, a Participant must:<\/p>\n
3.1.1. be a South African citizen or a permanent resident of the Republic of South Africa.<\/p>\n
3.1.2. be 16 (sixteen) years or older;<\/p>\n
3.1.3. be able to participate on a mobile device;<\/p>\n
3.1.4. be a natural person;<\/p>\n
3.1.5. have a South African birth certificate or be a foreign national with proof of<\/p>\n
identification and legal status in the Republic of South Africa; and<\/p>\n
3.1.6. be a registered user of SABC+ App.<\/p>\n
3.2. The following persons may not participate in the competition:<\/p>\n
3.2.1. 3.2.2. Directors, employees or business partners of the SABC, or any of their immediate<\/p>\n
family (spouse or life partner, parents, siblings and children, including adopted<\/p>\n
children, but not half or step relations), their agents or consultants or marketing<\/p>\n
service providers or any other person who directly or indirectly controls or is<\/p>\n
controlled by the SABC; or<\/p>\n
a supplier of goods or services to the SABC in connection with the competition.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
4. <\/b>PRIZES<\/p>\n
4.1. The Prize eligibility comprises of a total R5 000.00 (Five Thousand Rand) cash which shall be<\/p>\n
split equally amongst five (5) Winners of the Competition at R1 000 (One Thousand Rand) each.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
5. <\/b>HOW TO ENTER THE COMPETITION<\/p>\n
5.1. Participants can be eligible to enter the competition by being a registered user of the SABC+<\/p>\n
APP and completing the SABC+ Customer Satisfaction Survey which can be accessed on the<\/p>\n
SABC+ announcement feature.5.2. Each Survey Participant is eligible for 1 (one) entry into the Competition, and multiple<\/p>\n
responses from 1 (one) person will be disqualified for prize eligibility. Illegible and incomplete<\/p>\n
responses will also be disqualified.<\/p>\n
5.3. Participants who submit the completed Survey, must indicate that they would like to be<\/p>\n
entered for the Prize Eligibility Competition and must provide their name, surname, contacts<\/p>\n
details and date of birth after completing the Survey. The collection of personal information is<\/p>\n
strictly for the purposes of the Survey and Competition and complies with the POPIA and shall<\/p>\n
only be used for verification purposes and to communicate with Winners. Such information<\/p>\n
shall not be shared with any third-party.<\/p>\n
5.4. The Winners\u2019 will be randomly selected (using random winner selector software) after the<\/p>\n
Survey closing date from the database of valid entries submitted by the set deadline.<\/p>\n
5.5. The closing date for all Surveys and entry into the Competition shall be communicated by the<\/p>\n
SABC on the SABC+ App.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
6. <\/b>NOTIFICATION OF WINNERS<\/p>\n
6.1. All Winners of the Competition are required to provide the SABC with their original identity<\/p>\n
document to claim a prize and shall be required to complete all further necessary<\/p>\n
documentation as required by the SABC.<\/p>\n
6.2. The SABC shall notify all the Winners within two (2) weeks from the closing date of the Survey.<\/p>\n
1.1. Winners will also be directly contacted by the SABC via their indicated preferred method of<\/p>\n
contact first before being announced by the SABC on the SABC social media platforms.<\/p>\n
Thereafter, all Winners shall be announced by the SABC on the SABC social media platforms.<\/p>\n
If a Winner, where an attempt to contact has been made by the SABC via their preferred<\/p>\n
method of communication fails, the SABC shall proceed to announce their name as a Winner<\/p>\n
on its social media platform thereafter.<\/p>\n
1.2. In the event of a Winner who has been contacted by the SABC personally or their names<\/p>\n
announced on the SABC\u2019s social media, does not respond to SABC\u2019s notification after 1 (one)<\/p>\n
calendar month, the SABC reserves the right to withdraw the cash prize entitlement, and the<\/p>\n
cash prize will be forfeited, and an alternative Winner will be selected. Upon prize forfeiture,<\/p>\n
no compensation will be given.1.3. A Winner in this Competition consents to the SABC interviewing them live or otherwise on<\/p>\n
SABC platforms and to the SABC broadcasting the interview audio clip\/voice note or video on<\/p>\n
different SABC platforms.<\/p>\n
1.4. Prizes are non-transferable and is on an as-is basis .<\/p>\n
1.5.<\/span> The Prizes are therefore non-exchangeable, non-transferable, and is not redeemable for other<\/p>\n prizes. The prize may not be claimed by a third party on behalf of a Winner.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n 2. <\/b>GENERAL CONDITIONS<\/p>\n 7.1 By entering the Competition, Participants agree to the use of their personal information in<\/p>\n accordance with the provisions of the Protection of Personal Information Act No 4 of 2013<\/p>\n (\u201cPOPI Act\u201d).<\/p>\n 7.2 The Prize will only be handed directly to you or your parent or legal guardian and not to<\/p>\n anyone else.<\/p>\n 7.3 In the event of any dispute regarding these Terms and Conditions and\/or the results thereof<\/p>\n and all other matters relating to the Competition, the decision of SABC shall be final and no<\/p>\n further correspondence or discussions shall be entertained by the SABC.<\/p>\n 7.4 The SABC, its directors, employees, agents, or suppliers will not be responsible for any<\/p>\n direct or indirect loss or damage or disappointment resulting from your participation in the<\/p>\n competition, or for any accident, injury, harm, damages, costs or death that you or any<\/p>\n other person who participates in the SABC User Experience Survey Prize Eligibility<\/p>\n Competition sustains at any point during the fulfilment of the prize. disclaims liability for any injury or damage to any Winner\u2019s or any other person\u2019s device<\/p>\n relating to or resulting from participating in or downloading any material in connection with<\/p>\n the SABC User Experience Survey Prize Eligibility.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n The SABC further<\/p>\n 7.5 The SABC shall not be liable for any failure to comply with its obligations in terms of this<\/p>\n Competition where such failure is caused by something outside its control. Such<\/p>\n circumstances shall include, but not be limited to, pandemics, outbreaks, weather<\/p>\n conditions, fire, flood, hurricane, strike, industrial dispute, war, hostilities, political unrest,<\/p>\n riots, civil commotion, inevitable accidents, supervening legislation or any other<\/p>\n circumstances amounting to force majeure.7.6 7.7 7.8 7.9 7.10 7.11 Each Participant entrant and\/or Winner agrees to the SABC making their names and any<\/p>\n and all entries\/ user generated content\/ audio clips\/voice notes or video made available<\/p>\n for this Competition in the SABC\u2019s publications and\/or on its websites and any other media,<\/p>\n whether now known or invented in the future.<\/p>\n If one or more conditions of these Terms and Conditions are void and\/or invalid, this will<\/p>\n not affect the validity of the remaining Terms and Conditions and\/or any other specific<\/p>\n terms for the contest.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n By entering any this SABC+ Customer Satisfaction Survey Prize Eligibility, Each Participant<\/p>\n entrant confirms that they have read and understood and agree to be bound by these terms<\/p>\n and conditions, and by the decisions of the SABC, which are final in all matters relating to<\/p>\n the Prize Eligibility. Any breach of these terms and conditions will result in the<\/p>\n disqualification from the Prize Eligibility Competition or the forfeiture of the prize. No<\/p>\n correspondence will be entered into.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n The SABC may extend, shorten or cancel the competition immediately and without<\/p>\n notifying you if it is permitted by law, if we must do so by law, or for reasons beyond our<\/p>\n control.
