South Africa and Egypt will launch a business council soon. Nigeria's economy, which was ranked as Africa's largest in 2022, is expected to slip to fourth position this year, with South Africa expected to take the first position. Egypt, which was in the top position in 2023, will fall to second position, behind South Africa. And with South Africa set to become the largest economy in Africa, it's expected that investors and countries will be looking to the South. Former African National Congress (ANC) President Thabo Mbeki is assisting the party to garner votes in Soweto. He'll lead a walkabout and meet and greet at the Jabulani Mall in Soweto. This comes as the ANC ropes in its heavyweights to bolster its campaign ahead of the May 29 polls.
