SABC 2’s Muvhango family grows

SABC 2’s popular drama soapie, Muvhango family continues to grow and this time around we see the welcome addition of two talented actresses in the form of former Miss Teen SA, actress Phuti Khomo, and singer Lucia Mthiyane.
Phuti will be playing the role of Carol Chabeli, the wife of Njabulo Chabeli played by our new recruit Gabriel Mini. She is a fashion designer and will be first seen on screen starting on Wednesday, 21st March 2012.
Lucia Mthiyane will be playing the role of Selinah Mdluli, mother to Pearl (a receptionist at Mukwevho Holdings) a role played by Jo-Anne Reyneke. She will be seen on-screen starting on Tuesday, 03rd April 2012.
“The Production House (Word of Mouth) ran auditions looking for these characters and we are happy with what we found and we believe these actors will add more zest, vigour to an already stellar cast of Muvhango. We hope the viewers will fall in love with their characters, making Muvhango a soapie to watch” – said Lebo Malete from SABC 2 Publicity.
Phuti Khomo is a female who has been making waves in the Entertainment industry for 10 years. She attended high school at Nigel High School, where her school Principal Mrs Mac Donald recognized her acting talent and referred her to an art school. She continued high school at an Art school called Pro Arte Alphen Park, where she studied drama and one of the top Drama students in the whole department. She matriculated there in 2002. She first made her debut on Generations as a bimbo named “Ginger” in 2001.She then moved on to winning the Ms South Africa Teen title in 2002, proving to be one of the Most Successful pageant titleholders in S.A.
Lucia Mthiyane, ex-school teacher and a singer.Just to mention a few.She has sung for ex-President Nelson Mandela, ex-President Thabo Mbheki as well as the President of Indonesia on his presidential visit to South Africa. She is the ambassador for Carducci Woman. She gives motivational speaking to women. Lucia Mthiyane was recently appointed as one of the judges for Taste of Durban, which had chefs from different countries showing off their culinary skills. Lucia is currently working on her Debut album and has completed a cook book that will soon be published. She has been nominated as one of the chefs to conduct demonstrations for Spekko Rice throughout the country.She is currently putting together a television cooking show with a difference. She is also conducting cooking classes which seem to be a hit at Miele Kitchens around the country
