Praise and worship with Ukhozi FM  |  Wednesday 8 August 2012 09:27

What do you get when you combine Ukhozi FM, the number 1 radio station in the country, with South Africa’s biggest selling gospel artists?

The answer is, a tremendous Gospel Concert which was held in a jam-packed Coca Cola Park on Saturday 4 August 2012. The festival started off with a bang as Amaqhawe’s energetic performance had the crowd on its feet and followed shortly by the House of Worship - a group from Zimbabwe that offered a unique African sound with loads of energy.

A very energetic and charismatic MC of the event Ukhozi FM's Tshatha Ngobe, managed to elicit excitement amongst the crowd with humour and his impressive traditional dance moves, while Linda Sibiya introduced the rest of the Ukhozi FM team with his enigmatic personality he managed to do what he does best as he motivated the audience and gave them encouraging words of hope.
The award winning Gospel artist, Sifiso Ncwane, exuberantly said about the occasion, "I'm very excited a being a part of this great occasion with such a great turnout. iit made me realise that as gospel artists we have great support from the public. I really enjoyed it when the audience sang along to my songs and I’m delighted that they still wanted more. I would like to thank Ukhozi FM for putting this Gospel Concert together."

Ukhozi FM station manager Bonga Mpanza added that this event is in line with the SABC's mandate which is to educate, entertain and inform our citizens. SABC spokesperson, Mr Kaizer Kganyago said "This is an indication that radio has power, regardless of where it is, its magnitude has the power to pull large crowds."
