Hlaudi Motsoeneng dismissed from SABC  |  Tuesday 13 June 2017 06:38

The SABC's former COO Hlaudi Motsoeneng is no longer an employee of the public broadcaster. He has been dismissed from the broadcaster on Monday.

The SABC interim board has notified Mr. Motsoeneng of its decision to accept the recommendation that he be dismissed. This follows a disciplinary hearing against Mr. Motsoeneng after he held a media briefing in April. He has since been found guilty of putting the public broadcaster into disrepute.

The interim board's chairperson, Khanyisile Kweyama addressed the media at Auckland Park in Johannesburg.

"Mr Motsoeneng was being disciplined for very specific matters. There were misconduct, there were bringing the SABC into disrepute and also the relationship breakdown between the employer and the employee based on the statements that he made about the SABC board the ad hoc committee in parliament as well as the judge that presided over some matters. So based on those he was found guilty." Read more here -
