2012: A year of industrial action

South Africa has been plagued by a number of wildcat strikes this year. Here's a round-up of the strikes that made the headlines in 2012.

The Marikana miners' strike at Lonmin mine in August 2012 left 44 people dead. Dubbed a 'massacre', it was the most lethal use of force by South African security forces against civilians since 1960.
