Urologist, Dr Kabo Ijane says an estimated one in 150 males are born with hypospadias every year.

Speaking on Morning Live he says hypospadias is a congenital defect young boys are born with.

He says the defect makes male genitalia both cosmetically and functionally abnormal.

"Men born with the condition suffer severe psychological trauma, embarrassment and sexual dysfunction. This makes them feel incomplete," says Ijane.

He adds that it is important that a corrective operation is done early in life.
