President Jacob Zuma delivered his State of the Nation address after chaos in Parliament delayed it by an hour, and with all DA and EFF members no longer in the chamber.
First EFF members rose on a point of order, demanding that President Zuma pay back the Nkandla money.
Speaker Baleka Mbete then ordered EFF leader Julius Malema and several other party MP's to leave the chamber.
Security personnel then escorted the EFF members of the chamber. DA Chief Whip John Steenhuisen demanded that Mbete and NCOP Speaker Thandi Modise state whether the security personnel were police or parliamentary officials.
When the presiding officers failed to answer this, the DA caucus all walked out.
