India is to host the first Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa (BRICS) trade fair in October aimed at boosting trade between the countries.

The Indian High Commission and the Federation of Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industry say focus will be placed on investments in over 20 key economic sectors.

The BRICS trade fair will help companies find new markets in member countries. It's hoped it will be a platform for companies and countries to showcase technologies and advances made in industrial development.

The Federation of Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industry says the fair will provide an opportunity for member countries to grow together and boost trade between members.

The new development bank will also explore how the private sector can support its mandate of promoting sustainable development projects across BRICS countries.
