A mysterious fire has set the Kloof & Highway SPCA ablaze, allegedly after a death threat to one of its officials. The fire laid to waste the building where donated goods are stored.
It is alleged that the fire could be associated to the death threat that one of the staff members received last week. Manager of The Kloof & Highway SPCA Barbara Patrick says that the building was badly burnt and they do not understand why someone would want to hurt innocent animals.
"We hope to find the suspect as soon as possible, but obviously the staff and volunteers at The Kloof & Highway are absolutely devastated to know somebody would do this to affect our SPCA, and more importantly to affect the good work we do here," says Patrick.
No animals were injured in the fire and investigations are underway to find the cause of the fire.
