Former President, Nelson Mandela's eldest daughter, Makaziwe has re-iterated that her father is very critical that anything "is imminent."(SABC)
Former President, Nelson Mandela's eldest daughter, Makaziwe Mandela, says her dad is critically ill. The Mandela family has now again gathered at the hospital to visit the ailing statesman.
She says Madiba's condition is beyond their control. "I reiterate that Tata is very critical, that anything is imminent. But I want to emphasize again that it's only God who knows when the time to go is. So we will wait with Tata. He's still giving us hope by opening his eyes, he's still reactive to touch, we will live with that hope until the final end comes."
Madiba is spending a 20th day at a Pretoria hospital where he's being treated for a recurring lung infection. He was rushed to hospital on 8 June. Despite intensive treatment at Pretoria's Mediclinic Heart Hospital, Mandela’s condition appears to have suddenly and dramatically deteriorated in recent days.
Mandela's condition has forced President Jacob Zuma to cancel his trip to Mozambique.
