The three men suspected of killing Corrie sanders are expected at the Brits Magistrates Court today(SABC)

Three suspects are expected to appear again in the Brits Magistrates Court this morning, in connection with the murder of boxing legend, Corrie Sanders. He who was was gunned down while attending his nephew's 21st birthday celebrations in Brits in the North West, two weeks ago.

 

The suspects are Zimbabwean nationals aged between 19 and 27. Paida Fish, Samuel Mabena and Chris Moyo each face a charge of murder and three charges of robbery with aggravating circumstances.

 

They were arrested in the Oukasie informal settlement near Brits, a few days after the murder. During their arrest, police recovered a cellphone, vehicle key, purse, handbag, and cash believed to have been stolen during the robbery in which Sanders was shot.

 

In a separate matter, Mabena, is also accused of the murder of a farmer near Brits last month.

 

Sanders' murder sparked a national outcry, with fans, civic organisations and ordinary citizens calling on government to apply strict measures with regard to foreigners coming into the country.

 

All three suspects remain in custody.
