The Reserve Bank is promising a surprise at an ATM near you next Tuesday.
Reserve Bank Governor Gill Marcus says the much-anticipated Madiba cash notes will come into circulation on the 6th of November.
Earlier this year, the Governor and President Jacob Zuma announced that the Bank would make this commemoration to the country's first post-apartheid President.
The Bank says at some stage it will deliver a unique collection of the Madiba notes to the man himself.
"We hope that everybody doesn't rush to the ATMs and pocket the bills, but there will be, as you know, co circulation with the current notes so that there will be an introduction of the new note, not necessarily everybody will get new notes immediately, but from Tuesday next week, they will be available in circulation in the normal way that currency is available, so we are looking forward to that and hoping that all of you will do too."
