Former Bafana Bafana and Kaizer Chiefs midfielder Thabang Jonny Lebese has past away at the Helen Joseph Hospital after he was admitted for an undisclosed illness.


According to his mother, Meisie, Lebese was in a bad condition when he was admitted. "He could not speak when he was admitted."

Lebese spent years at Chiefs, helping the Soweto Glamour Boys to win a lot of trophies

Former teammate and Kaizer Chiefs captain Jimmy Tau confirmed the passing of the former star.  

Lebese spent years at Chiefs, helping the Soweto Glamour Boys to win a lot of trophies. He was born on August 24, 1973, in Johannesburg and played for Ria Stars, Kaizer Chiefs  and Orlando Pirates.
