DA MP Glynnis Breytenbach has denied that Western Cape Premier Helen Zille is to immediately face a disciplinary process over her colonialism tweet, saying an investigation first needs to take place.
Breytenbach says due party process needs to be followed.
Zille tweeted earlier this week that some aspects of colonialism were not bad.
DA leader Mmusi Maimane said that Zille's view was not that of the party and that oppression could never be justified.
Breytenbach says the party will conduct a thorough probe into the matter to establish whether the tweet was an infringement of DA policy or its Federal Constitution.
