President Jacob Zuma will today lead South Africa's delegation to the 67th sitting of the United Nations General Assembly. International Relations spokesperson Clayson Monyela says President Zuma is scheduled to address the General Assembly on Tuesday. The theme of the debate is "Bringing about Adjustment or Settlement of International Disputes of Situations by Peaceful Means".
South Africa strongly supports reform of the UN, specifically the Security Council. It's also supporting Palestine's coming request for enhanced status as an UN observer state, and participating in meetings on the margins of the General Assembly.
Zuma will be accompanied by International Relations Minister Maite Nkoana-Mashabane.
