Suave: Dali Tambo has a sit down lunch with Zimbabwean president Robert Mugabe on Sunday evening's edition of People of the South.(SABC)
Celebrated South African magazine show host, Dali Tambo, is set to feature Zimbabwean President Robert Mugabe and his family on this Sunday evening's episode of People of the South on SABC 3.
Mugabe along with his wife, Grace Mugabe and their two children Bona and Bellarmine Mugabe, all sat down to lunch with Tambo in the State House in Harare, Zimbabwe.
Returning after a 10 year hiatus, Tambo kicked of his brand of suave personality-focused interviewing with a feature on President Jacob Zuma and his family. This series of 26 episodes will feature an eclectic mix of personalities, politicians and icons.
People of the South is an up-market docu–entertainment style chat show that is shot on location: in homes, offices, on the street profiling people of substance from all walks of life. It is a program that aims to create a strong sense of national identity and evoke a sense of pride in our exceptional achievers.
Dali’s sensitive yet probing interviews are distinctly emotive and informative. They are illustrated by visually inter-cutting archive footage, photographs and personal memorabilia. The episodes culminate in a celebratory dinner – a new feature of the series - where Dali encourages reminiscing, good humour, and a great sense of occasion.
Tambo's first part of his interview with the controversial leader and his family airs on SABC 3 at 20:30 on Sunday evening, with the second part next week.
