Free State bridge closed following truck accident

The bridge across the Orange River between Rouxville in the Free State and Aliwal-North in the Eastern Cape will remain closed until structural damage has been properly investigated.
 
This after a truck hit one of the pillars of the bridge. The bridge links the N-Six in the eastern Free State and the Eatern Cape. The truck driver has been admitted to hospital with serious head injuries. Motorists are advised to use alternative routes via Zastron and Smitfield.
 
 
Meanwhile, 14 Mmabatho residents have been injured slightly when the minibus they travelling in, overturned on the R53- near Potchefstroom in North West. 47- year old Derrick Moalusi says they were travelling from Mmabatho to a funeral in Sharpeville when the accident happened.
 
 
" I didn't know what was happening and the car went out of control,  it went outside the road and it rolled twice, nothing serious, some people have broken arms and painful shoulders and so forth," says Derrick Moalusi.
