Author and Psychologist Michelle Hattingh says many times in rape incidents, the society puts blame on the victim and forgets that some perpetrator did the victim wrong.

“It will always be a question of what was the victim wearing or where were you when the rape happened which makes it hard for the victim to heal from the painful rape experience,” says Hattingh.

Hattingh has written a novel titled: ‘I'm the girl who was raped’ to share her experience as a rape survivor leaving in a world where rape is not talked about.

Speaking on Morning Live, Hattingh says she was raped after she had completed her thesis on rape for her Honours in Psychology while she was out with her classmates.
