There is a 27% growth in the Somatology industry in South Africa.
This is according to somatologist and founder of Lavan skin and body, Lurinda Swanepoel.
Somatology is the scientific study of the body with specific focus on health and skin care.
Speaking to SABC Digital News Swanepoel says there are numerous opportunities in the industry... "There are opportunities for young people to go in the beauty industry as employees or business owners. One does not necessarily need to go through varsity but there are beauty courses, if one wants to study, but there is training available all over the country."
One can make money by selling products and investing in spa machines to start up their businesses.
She says the Rand Show has exposed her business to many South Africans who are unaware of the Somatology industry.
