New Zealand's assistant coach, Ian Foster, has suggested that the Springboks' team spirit in 2017 is one of the main reasons for their improved results. The All Blacks take on South Africa in a top of the table Rugby Championship clash in Albany, New Zealand on Saturday morning.

Despite the Boks playing better rugby in 2017, recent results between the two countries confirmed that the traditional rivalry has turned into more of a challenge for the Springboks just to keep up.

The All Blacks are keen to keep it that way.

“It's a country we've got massive respect for. You've got to appreciate the way they've rebounded from last year and changed dramatically over the last year and it's a young team that looks like they want to play for each other,” said Foster.

In terms of results the Boks have improved, but they've also made some glaring mistakes against weaker opposition than the All Blacks. This must be rectified if they want to compete with New Zealand on an equal footing.
