Top heads of states and government will meet in London tomorrow to discuss Somalia. The conference will seek long lasting solutions on the Somali conflict, famine and what happens after the term of the current government expires in August.

Some towns, now under the control of the Kenya Defence Forces and the Transitional Federal government troops offers a glimmer of hope for a people who have known nothing but war.

A few metres from the Dhobley Hospital in Somalia lies Wamo Primary School. Untrained teachers mold the next generation of Somalis. Things were different eight months ago, when Al Shabab controlled Dhobley.

A teacher at the school Mohammed Abdi said that Al Shabab did not want English, Swahili or any other subjects to be taught in the school. They said that only Islamic subjects must be taught.

When the world meets in London, to discuss Somalia, teachers and doctors will not just be looking for a quick fix solution but a solution that will help solve the problem of the hospital patients and students in the country.
