Two people have been confirmed dead and 15 others were injured after an
explosion in a police vehicle rocked
The blast destroyed a police van
returning from court to prison and initial indications are that plans to
detonate an explosive device to facilitate an escape went horribly wrong.
The explosion took place at Medium B section. It's not yet clear what caused the blast. Earlier reports said four people died in the blast.
A large number of emergency vehicles are on the scene. Police are expected to address the media shortly.
