Since its inception three years ago, South Africa's sanitary pads company, MIMI Women has been committed to helping girls and women in some of South Africa’s poorest areas to empower themselves.

MIMI Women has since developed into a non-profit organisation, and with Women's month in full swing, the MIMI Foundation has committed itself to keeping girl children in school - whether they are on their periods or not, by donating sanitary pads to disadvantaged communities.

Gender activist and feminist, Ramona Kasavan who founded and heads the company, says education is a great tool in a woman’s life.
