Two more rhinos have been killed at the Mafikeng Game Reserve in North West. The provincial Parks and Tourism Board has confirmed the incident.
It says the rhinos were found by rangers while they were patrolling the park at the weekend. The reserve's manager Eric Madamalala says the poachers only managed to get the horn from one rhino.
"We lost two rhinos through poaching in Mafikeng Game Reserve. They were picked up by our field rangers who were on patrol and that incident has led to the number of rhinos poached in Mafikeng Game Reserve this year to four, given the current spate of poaching so far in the province. We have lost about 50 rhinos."
