A migration expert Professor Loren Landau says what is happening in Diepsloot in northern Johannesburg is definitely
xenophobic violence.

The situation remains tense in the area following the killing of two men allegedly by a Somali businessman on Sunday.

Dozens of foreigners have started leaving the area after tensions flared there again on Monday night.

The situation became volatile again with several shops being looted just a few hours ago. Nine people from the area will appear in court later on Tuesday for public violence and possession of foreign goods.

Landau is the Director of Wits University's African Centre for Migration and Society and spoke to SAfm AM Live's Xolani Gwala on Tuesday morning on the matter.
