Petrol prices, more hikes forecast

The price of petrol is set to increase from Wednesday. 93 Octane will increase by 25 cents a litre while 95 Octane will go up by 29 cents a litre.

Both grades of diesel will increase by 42 cents a litre.  

Illuminating paraffin will see an increase of 37 cents a litre.

The Central Energy Fund attributes the price hikes to rising global prices for petrol and diesel.

The Automobile Association has warned of further hikes fuelled by a weaker rand, the threat of interest rate increases from the US as well as buoyant global oil markets.
