Premier of Gauteng David Makhura says the government has learnt from the operations of the online application registration system last year and its weaknesses.

The Premier is currently interacting with parents with Education MEC Panyaza Lesufi at Eyethu Mall in Orange Farm, Johannesburg.

This comes as they launch the improved online application registration system for for grade 1 and grade 8 learners.

Speaking on Morning Live Makhura says government wants to make sure there is a very smooth online registration for parents.

“We have been talking to parents as they are lining up to go to work this morning. Many of them say they experienced problems last year but with some of them it’s because of basic issues of access to technology… and we have 65 centres to assist those parents.”
