A Gauteng government employee who posted racist comments on social media has been suspended.

The Department of Sport, Arts, Culture and Recreation on Thursday held a disciplinary hearing against Velaphi Khumalo.

Khumalo's cooment called for black South Africans to do to white people what Hitler did to Jews.

Department spokesperson Nomazwe Ntlokwana says the department served Khumalo with a letter of suspension on Friday morning.
"What we need to do now, we then need to ensure that we follow due disciplinary processes in line with government legislative framework in putting this matter to finality and concluding with it."
