Pixley Ka Seme stature unveiled

The unveiling of Dr Pixley Ka Isaka Seme's statues coincides with the ANC's centenary celebrations.(SABC)

Late struggle hero Dr. Pixley Ka Isaka Seme has been honoured in Mpumalanga. A statue of him has been unveiled in Daggakraal near Volkrust.   He was the President of the ANC from 1930 to 1936.

Dr Seme was born in Daggakraal 1881. Widely regarded and respected for his selflessness, Dr Seme established the South African Native Farmers Association. It comprised of two farms. They are known today as Driefontein and Daggakraal.

The unveiling of Dr Seme's statues coincides with the ANC's centenary celebrations. It's one of government's initiatives to remember the country's liberation history.
