It is calling on members of the public to send them ideas on how they would like to celebrate Madiba's life.

The Foundations Sello Hatang says, “And we are hoping that with this, we'll have young people for example, young people around the world not just in South Africa, writing to Madiba, and not only reminiscing about the past, because most of them wouldn't have been born … but say what kind of presence do we have and the future they want to see.”

At the weekend, South Africa commemorated 27 years since Mandela's release from prison in 1990. And his birthday celebrations lined up for 2017 will be under the banner #27for27.
