The Nelson Mandela Children’s hospital has not been fully operational due to a lack of funds.

After its launch party nine months ago and R1 billion in donations, the world class Nelson Mandela Children's Hospital lacks funds and has not fully opened.

This comes after the hospital received funds from Treasury and donors.

CEO of the Children’s hospital, Dr Mandisa Maholwana says they are confident that the hospital will run smoothly soon.

“The future is still bright for the hospital. We are confident we are on track. We have actually seen some keen interest to help us get the hospital up and running.”
