"Mandela's last years" has been pulled off the shelves.

The family of the former statesman Nelson Mandela has urged the executors of his estate to speed up action against retired SANDF surgeon-general, Dr Vejay Ramlakan.

This is after the book "Mandela's Last Years" written by Doctor Ramlakan, was published.

The publisher has since withdrawn the book from trade after Mandela's widow Graca Machel and the family objected.

The family argues that the content of the book has numerous inaccuracies.

Shop owner Kate Rogan says orders are still coming in even though the book has been withdrawn.

Executor and former deputy chief justice Dikgang Moseneke says they intend lodging complaints with the SANDF and the Health Professions' Council of South Africa.
